More About Andrea Hofstad

Clinical Interests:

Andrea is a compassionate and encouraging mental health therapist who believes mental wellness develops through understanding, connection, and meaningful change. She works with individuals, couples, and families experiencing grief and loss, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Her work emphasizes improving communication, strengthening mutual respect, and supporting positive change. Andrea has experience working with clients across the lifespan, from ages 11 to 90.

Andrea’s calm, approachable demeanor and cultural sensitivity create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel comfortable sharing openly without judgment. She values active listening and collaborates with clients to understand their values, strengths, and lived experiences to support the whole person.

With a professional background spanning more than two decades, Andrea has worked in a variety of mental health settings supporting individuals, couples, families, and teenagers. Her early work in adult chemical dependency treatment provided a strong foundation in addressing substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. She later provided in-home mental health services, working closely with families and couples to address relationship conflict, communication challenges, and a wide range of mental health needs across all ages. She has also supported children and adolescents in educational settings, helping them navigate emotional, behavioral, and trauma-related concerns.

Andrea has extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, parenting strategies, oppositional behaviors, low self-esteem, suicidality, grief and loss, familial and couple conflict, parent–child relationships, incarcerated parents, chemical dependency, and other complex mental health concerns. Andrea believes healing begins with understanding and collaboration and is committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families as they work toward clarity, resilience, and healthier relationships.
