More About Courtney Huddleston

Clinical Interests:

First and foremost, I have a passion to serve and work with anyone that needs help on their journey healing from mental and substance misuse challenges. I am driven to work with individuals that have survived stressful or traumatic experiences in childhood, adulthood or both, collaboratively helping them recover and thrive to live their best life. I also enjoy working with people that have ADHD and anxiety. My husband and I are a dual-military couple for more than 15 years, and I enjoy working with fellow service members and Veterans on their journey to recovery. I have experience providing psychotherapy with adults, service members, Veterans, and youth with a wide range of concerns including ADHD, Anxiety, traumatic or stressful experiences, Depression, PTSD, helping the individual manage relationship issues, Substance Use Disorders, and suicidal thinking. I am open to faith-based clients and concerns and incorporating your spiritual or religious beliefs into session.

Clinical Approach:

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with nearly 15 years in the mental health field, serving as a therapist and case manager, in various agency settings-emergency room, social service agencies, VA hospital, military, and a state psychiatric facility.

My counseling style is conversational, warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach is integrative, based on the needs of each individual, combining techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, EMDR, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and any individual spiritual or religious beliefs. I am also trained in Internal Family Systems “parts work” and Sand Tray Therapy, incorporating these techniques with other therapeutic modalities. I believe psycho-education about your concerns or diagnoses is a significant part of the recovery journey, so I incorporate this into sessions, so you can find out how you are “wired.” I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek help and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support and empower you on your journey to the best version of yourself!

Hobbies:

I enjoy quality time with my two young and spunky children and my husband. We have many types of animals. I enjoy being active outdoors (i.e. basketball, kayaking, snowboarding) and incorporating fitness into my family’s lifestyle.
