More About Dzenita Subasic

Clinical Interests:

As a provider at Sagent Behavioral Health I primarily offer in-person group therapy sessions, with some groups available online to accommodate different needs and preferences. I have over six years of experience leading group therapy across diverse populations, I believe in the transformative power of community and shared healing. Group work creates a safe space for growth, connection, and self-discovery which allows members to explore new perspectives and develop valuable skills that empower them to navigate relationships and life’s challenges more effectively.
Each group typically consists of 4-10 members and spans three months, during which we embark on a journey of collective and individual growth. Through experiential exercises, meaningful dialogue, and mutual support, clients deepen their understanding of themselves and foster a sense of community that can be truly healing.

Clinical Approach:

As a group counselor, I utilize a variety of clinical approaches to foster growth and connection among members. I often incorporate cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and modify maladaptive thoughts and behaviors, as well as psychodynamic techniques to explore unconscious patterns and relational dynamics. Humanistic and experiential methods, such as role-playing and expressive arts, promote self-awareness and authentic expression. Additionally, I draw on interventions like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills groups to enhance emotion regulation, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to highlight strengths and goals, and trauma-informed practices to create a safe and empowering environment for all participants. These diverse approaches support a holistic and flexible group experience tailored to clients’ needs.

Hobbies:

I enjoy spending meaningful time with my family and friends, exploring new skills and knowledge, participating in community service, engaging in outdoor activities, and traveling to discover new places and cultures.
