More About Eva Szocik
Clinical Interests:
I received both my Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation Psychology and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from UW-Madison. I provide individual and group counseling to adults and adolescents. I have been interested in the mental health field for as long as I can remember and have always had a drive to build meaningful connections with others and get to know them at a deeper level.
Clinical Approach:
I take a strengths-based, direct, authentic, and non-judgmental approach to counseling. I believe in the philosophy that the most caring thing a therapist can do, is to support and challenge clients in achieving the goals they have for themselves, through a balance of accountability and validation. I specialize in evidence-based therapeutic modalities of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure-Response Prevention (ERP) for anxiety/OCD, and Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy for PTSD/trauma, and I have experience working with clients with a variety of diagnoses and presenting problems.
Hobbies:
I have a love of animals, cooking, traveling, outdoors, and spending quality time with my friends, family, and my orange cat named Daisy. I also enjoy expressing creativity through writing, practicing my French, as well as watching classic horror movies or psychological thrillers.
