More About Kieran Stemm

Clinical Interests:

My name is Kieran, and I am a pre-licensed Mental Health Therapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating a wide range of concerns, including communication difficulties, relationship conflict, emotional disconnection, trust concerns, life transitions, identity development, stress, anxiety, depression, parenting challenges, and concerns related to work, family, and personal values.

I have particular clinical interests in couples and family therapy, supporting couples exploring how faith and spirituality intersect with their relationship when these are important to them, and working with men’s mental health. I am especially passionate about helping couples move from feeling stuck and disconnected to developing deeper understanding, more effective communication, and renewed emotional closeness.

I provide therapy for individuals ages 12 and older, couples (ages 18+), and families with children ages 8 and older. In family therapy, I work collaboratively with parents and children, focusing on relational patterns, strengthening communication, and fostering healthier family relationships. I offer both in-person and telehealth services to clients located in Minnesota and am currently accepting new clients for weekday appointments.

Clinical Approach:

I am Level 1 trained in the Gottman Method and incorporate Gottman-informed interventions to help couples better understand conflict patterns, strengthen emotional connection, and build practical tools for repair and reconnection. I also integrate goal-oriented strategies from solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and experiential approaches to support individuals, couples, and families in creating meaningful change, strengthening relationships, and working toward their personal and relational goals.

I take a collaborative, client-centered approach, tailoring therapy to each individual’s, couple’s, or family’s unique strengths, circumstances, and goals. I believe that every person is the expert in their own life and story, and I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. My aim is to create a structured, supportive environment where clients can develop insight, improve communication, build resilience, and cultivate healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Hobbies:

Outside of clinical work, I enjoy learning new things, engaging with music, and spending time with people who are important to me. I value creativity, balance, and activities that support well-being.
