More About Kim Creasey
Clinical Interests:
I work with children and adolescents because I believe that they are some of the most amazing people on the planet! I have been, and continue to be, inspired by every young person I meet. I have worked with children for over 30 years, first in an early childhood education setting, and now providing therapeutic care and support. I appreciate walking alongside children, teens, and their families to strengthen mental health. Children and adolescents often possess a unique outlook on life, much different than the outlook of the adults in their lives. Therefore, I prefer to meet my clients where they are; allowing them to direct the pace and flow of our time together. I find that working alongside the client’s family, caregivers, and supporters helps to enhance all the work done in session.
Clinical Approach:
I work from a person-centered approach, considering each client’s unique strengths, values, and beliefs. Additionally, I consider how clients relate to the people in their world and how those relationships impact, or have impacted, their lives. We explore a child or adolescent’s thoughts and feelings by using a variety of activities including imaginative play, creative arts, music, sensory exploration, or movement. In allowing my clients to lead their sessions, I am able to further understand their needs and then personalize our sessions to be more meaningful and impactful for them.
Hobbies:
I love to travel! I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing exciting, new things. My favorite place to visit is Walt Disney World in Florida! Additionally, I love to read, try new and interesting foods, be in the sunshine, and spend time with my family and friends. I especially enjoy being an Auntie to my niece and three nephews! I also adore my two cats, Tink and Luna!
