More About Kris Rahn
Clinical Interests:
As an experienced psychologist, I have had the pleasure of working with children, adolescents and adults across diverse settings including inpatient, outpatient, residential, in-home, and correctional. I have a background in art therapy as well.
I find it very rewarding to perform psychological evaluations related to cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and adaptive functioning. These may include assessing executive functions such as attention and memory, learning and coping styles, the impact of trauma, severity of mental health symptoms, social interactions, and other concerns identified during the intake process. Evaluations are offered to those age 6 and up.
Clinical Approach:
My therapeutic approach is flexible–designed to meet you where you are within a safe and supportive environment. I can help you gain self-awareness and find meaning by exploring the impact of early experiences on current patterns of relating to the world. Practical strategies for behavior management, and techniques to develop coping and communications skills are also offered. I like to bring humor and creativity to the therapeutic process and often use art and play. Clients of all ages are welcome.
Hobbies:
Vicarious exploration of the weird and mysterious, concerts, word puzzles, “fix-it” and artsy projects, and unwinding with my husband, our cats Riff and Rollie, and our puppy Miska (“little bear”)
