More About Kristen Viscarra

Clinical Interests:

As a 2nd generation Latina and therapist, I am interested in supporting all communities and intersectionalities including BIPOC, LGBT, and immigrant communities. I have worked with children, teens, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma or stress related symptoms. I am especially interested in working with teens and adults.

Clinical Approach:

I believe that hope and support are required for change in people’s lives. We already possess the ability to heal and nurture ourselves and therapy can be a way to focus on a path forward. I use a person-centered and strength-based approach in session while incorporating elements of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy. I use my previous experience as a behavior dean and school counselor to connect with clients while affirming mistakes are okay and normal.

Hobbies:

I am originally from Arizona and love being around nature or staying cozy inside with a cup of tea and a good book. I love to crochet and do anything else crafty.
