Clinical Approach:

I take a holistic, client-centered approach that incorporates environmental, medical, socio-economic, historical, and other contexts that affect how we function. I tend to use a hybrid of CBT and DBT techniques and principles combined with narrative, depth-oriented, and creative expression work. What this approach looks like is examining and challenging beliefs, thoughts, and assumptions; integrating coping, emotion regulation, and people skills; and adding story-telling, journaling, artistic expression to process, accept, understand, and/or resolve your concerns. We look at your history, factors that feed into what you’re experiencing including cultural, personal, familial, and other aspects of your life and experience to help you achieve your goals and live a life you want to live. I’m open to integrating spirituality and religion based on your preference, and work to understand and help you as a whole person, not a diagnosis or label.

Hobbies:

I like to create my own art (mixed media, assemblage, and collage) and crafts, write (I’ve written a book of journaling and art projects for self-exploration), journal, and learn – I would have been a perpetual student if I could have been! I spend time with my partner, my kids, and my pets – a dog and a cat. I also love to read, knit, cook, and be on the shore (ocean or lakes).
