More About Lindsey Veum
Clinical Interests:
I specialize in working with adults and older adults ages 45–85, supporting individuals through ADHD, Autism, Depression, and Anxiety. My areas of focus also include body positivity and eating disorders, where I help clients foster a healthier and more compassionate relationship with themselves. I have a passion for geriatric mental health, addressing the unique concerns of aging, grief, and changing health needs.
Additionally, I provide affirming support to parents of transgender youth, helping them navigate the emotional journey of understanding, acceptance, and advocacy. I also enjoy guiding clients through major life transitions such as retirement, shifting family roles, or adapting to new stages of life, offering a safe and supportive space for growth and healing.
Clinical Approach:
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. I draw from evidence-based practices to support growth and healing while maintaining a person-centered and strengths-focused perspective. I believe therapy works best when clients feel safe, respected, and truly heard. Together, we explore challenges, build coping strategies, and uncover strengths that foster resilience and empowerment. I also integrate mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and supportive exploration of identity and life transitions, always with an emphasis on self-compassion, body positivity, and creating lasting change that aligns with each client’s goals and values.
Hobbies:
Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my family and on creative hobbies that bring me joy and balance. I love cookie decorating, where I can combine precision with artistry, and I also enjoy knitting and crocheting as relaxing ways to create something meaningful with my hands. Coloring and crafting allow me to slow down, recharge, and express creativity in playful ways. I also have a passion for travel, with the personal goal of visiting every national park in the United States. These hobbies not only nurture my well-being but also remind me of the importance of creativity, exploration, and mindfulness in everyday life.
