More About Liz Braun

Clinical Interests:

Liz is a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner who provides psychiatric evaluation and medication management services to patients ages 14+. Liz is passionate about working with her patients to provide the structure and support that enables them to create the best version of their lives, heal from past trauma, and attend to their mental health concerns. Liz believes that developing a collaborative therapeutic relationship with her patients plays an essential role in her patients’ pursuit of wellness and that the important work her patients do to improve their mental wellbeing benefits themselves, their families, and their community.

Liz’s past experiences as a psychiatric nurse, emergency nurse, and sexual assault nurse examiner have provided her with a broad array of skills to utilize when working with her patients. In her practice, Liz takes a comprehensive approach to medication management and works with her patients to use a variety of tools to improve their mental wellbeing. Liz is an open, empathetic, and creative provider who is able to meet her patients where they are and to tailor a treatment plan unique to her patients’ priorities and needs.

Liz is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) who received advanced practice training at Vanderbilt University. She has gone on to receive training in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) through The Ketamine Training Center, under the guidance of Dr. Phil Wolfson, and has also been certified in psychedelic-assisted therapy through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute.

Since joining Intero, Liz has facilitated over 500 KAP medicine sessions and has witnessed her patients, especially those who have felt “stuck” and unable to make significant progress with traditional treatments, experience positive shifts and lasting change in their mental well-being. Liz has found KAP to be a powerful tool in helping people heal the root causes of emotional suffering, especially trauma.

Liz believes that developing a collaborative therapeutic relationship with her patients, where patients feel truly seen and heard, plays an essential role in her patients’ pursuit of healing and wellness.  Liz’s past experiences as a psychiatric nurse, emergency nurse, and sexual assault nurse examiner have equipped her with a broad array of skills to utilize when working with her patients.  Liz is guided by empathy, integrity, and honesty and believes that everyone deserves care that respects their individuality—their story, their needs, and their vision for the future.
