More About Lydia Anderson
Clinical Interests:
Primarily, I find myself most interested in working one-on-one with young adults dealing with a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief/loss, trauma, attachment style, career concerns, guilt/shame, caregiver stress, relationship stress, and individuals in law enforcement or spouses/partners of officers. I am also open to working with other first responders, such as EMTs/Paramedics or firefighters.
Clinical Approach:
Through narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy strategies, attachment theory, and person-centered therapy, I aim to foster a safe, comfortable, and grace-filled space for my clients to better understand themselves and their relationships. I am also open to including other elements in session (i.e., prayer, religious perspectives, artistic activities, etc.) if the client wishes to do so. Through a non-judgmental and curious perspective, I work with clients to explore their past experiences and relationships as a way to help explain or give context to their current issues/behaviors. Speaking from my own experience as a client, the better we can understand the ‘why’ behind our maladaptive traits/behaviors, the better we can exercise self-grace as we begin to implement positive changes in our lives.
Hobbies:
Outside of the office, I enjoy drawing, baking, fishing, reading, listening to and playing music, watching comfort movies/shows, thrifting, going on walks, and spending time with my husband (and our two cats and two dogs).
