More About Matthew Martin
Clinical Interests:
I have previously worked with adults in Independent Living Skills (ILS) involving residential and community based healthcare. I enjoy working with adults experiencing a wide variety of issues/concerns. Some of the more common diagnoses I have worked with include: Addictions, Anxiety (General), Anger, and Depression (MDD). I also enjoy treating with people challenged with codependency, self-esteem issues, and helping them to identify their values. I work with a variety of adult demographics (i.e. age, race, gender, religion) and I look forward to meeting with you.
Clinical Approach:
I utilize a mixture of cognitive behavioral therapy skills and techniques, motivational interviewing techniques, and solution focused techniques as my approach to working with clients. I incorporate DBT-related skills into my work, including mindfulness and increasing distress tolerance. My goal with working with clients is to meet them at where they are at and walk with them on their journey of self-discovery.
Hobbies:
My friends and family are important to me and I cherish the moments I spend with them. I love to lift weights at a local gym, the peacefulness of growing houseplants, and watching movies (The Shawshank Redemption is a personal favorite) in my free time. My favorite game show is Jeopardy! I could talk trivia all day.
