More About Melissa Norland-Shepard

Clinical Interests:

I specialize in trauma treatment and nervous system support for a myriad of mental health concerns, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, PTSD, mood disorders, and more. I coach clients struggling with habit formation and executive functioning that may result from ADHD, anxiety, or trauma. I also work with clients experiencing grief and relationship problems, working to improve self-care, self-compassion, and boundaries to support overall wellbeing.

Clinical Approach:

I utilize a person-centered approach to blend strategies and interventions from a variety of specialties that I have sought further training in. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level I (CCTP-I) and have additional training in polyvagal theory and somatic therapy that seeks to address the underlying physiology that contributes to mental health symptoms. I use mindfulness-based strategies blended with Cognitive Behavior Therapy, DBT skills, and ACT interventions to meet each unique client where they’re at.

Hobbies:

I love being active, and participate in running, yoga, and hockey. Reading is my favorite way to relax.
