More About Samantha Klockow
Clinical Interests:
As a psychologist, I enjoy helping people clarify the most appropriate diagnoses and, more importantly, how their personal symptoms impact the various aspects of their lives. I use evidence-based psychological measures in the evaluations to assess attention levels, learning styles, social skills, personality functioning, psychosis, mood regulation, and behavioral concerns. With over ten years of therapeutic experience, I specialize in areas including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety, depression, trauma, parental skills, and adjustment disorders.
Clinical Approach:
My client-based approach is clear in the time I take to discuss diagnoses, recommendations, and the reasons for my professional suggestions. My therapeutic technique involves components of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and unified protocol; however, I am passionate about providing eclectic and flexible approaches tailored to the specific needs and interests of each individual person. After providing a setting of comfort and safety, I approach therapy as a partnership to allow the individuals to explore, actively communicate, and work towards their mental health goals.
Hobbies:
My hobbies at home vary and include cross-stitching, reading, learning the dulcimer, nail art, playing with my dog, and various crafts. Similar to my clinical approach, I enjoy creating a comfortable home for frequently visiting family and friends.
