More About Sarah Spitzmiller
Clinical Interests:
My clinical interests include working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and stress-related concerns. I enjoy helping clients through life transitions, relationship challenges, and identity development. I also enjoy working with teenagers in particular!
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach is strengths-based and focuses on building a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory, focusing on how early experiences, relationships, and patterns shape current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I work collaboratively with clients to increase insight and create new ways of relating to themselves and others. I also incorporate CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) as practical tools for managing mental health symptoms and increasing emotional regulation.
Hobbies:
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, staying active through yoga and walking, and trying new restaurants and thrift stores. I love to read, crochet, and cook new recipes!
