More About Sophie Poynter

Clinical Interests:

Sophie Poynter (she/her) is an art therapist who utilizes Adlerian, Person Centered, Cognitive behavioral therapy, and multiculturalism within her therapeutic lens. Sophie currently works with clients ages 13+, and especially loves working with folks who are neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, or are experiencing a life change such as transitioning from High School to college. Sophie is passionate about creating a strong therapeutic rapport with her clients and takes joy in helping her clients decrease their anxiety, set boundaries, reconnect with their inner child, improve their confidence and sense of identity. Sophie knows that starting therapy can be scary and makes sure her office is a cozy environment to assist her clients’ level of comfort.

Hobbies:

In her free time, Sophie will often be partaking in yoga, spending time with her Pomeranian “Ms. Wubs” (pictured), crocheting, sewing, or playing video games. Sophie loves Halloween as well as the color pink and is not afraid to show it!
