More About Sophie Wamre
Clinical Interests:
I work with clients across the lifespan, including adults, adolescents, and children as young as age 3. My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, ADHD, relational concerns, life or work-related stressors, and women’s issues. I have a special interest in helping people navigate issues related to shame and guilt, as well those experiencing burnout or compassion fatigue.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach is rooted in connection, compassion, and a belief in people’s capacity for meaningful change. I draw influence from the work of Brené Brown, especially around shame resilience, authenticity, and vulnerability. I often help clients to explore themes of attachment, identity formation, and self-compassion, and work to create a space where reflection, curiosity, and emotional safety come together.
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and also integrate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused, and Narrative Therapy. I am trained in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children) and take a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to care.
Hobbies:
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family at the lake, listening to country music, attending concerts, and exploring local coffee shops. I’m a proud “plant lady” with a collection of over 40 houseplants, and I find puzzles and coloring to be relaxing ways to unwind and recharge.
