More About Taylor Degen
Clinical Interests:
My clinical interests focus on supporting children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, are navigating behavioral or emotional challenges, or are adjusting to family changes such as separation or divorce. I’m especially passionate about helping youth with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and anxiety build self-awareness, resilience, and emotional regulation skills in ways that feel safe, playful, and developmentally appropriate. I enjoy helping children and families strengthen communication, foster secure attachments, and build coping strategies to support success at home, in school, and in relationships.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach is grounded in the belief that children heal and grow best when they feel safe, understood, and supported by the important adults in their lives. I integrate play therapy, EMDR, TF-CBT, and AutPlay to create developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed interventions that help children process their experiences and build emotional regulation skills. I incorporate caregivers throughout the therapeutic process and take a family-systems perspective, supporting parents in understanding their child’s needs and strengthening the parent-child relationship.
Hobbies:
In my free time, I love being outdoors, exploring new places, running, practicing photography, working on creative crafts, and spending time with my dog and family.
