Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with a wide range of presenting problems rather than specializing with any one specific concern. I do tend to have a trauma-informed lens, noting how past events typically impact how one sees themselves and the world around them. I have extensive experience working with substance abuse, both in terms of individuals as well as the rest of the family that is impacted. I also pay close attention to negative self-talk, as we often are our own worst enemy and need to change the tape that we tend to continue to listen to over and over again.
Clinical Approach:
I tend to borrow from several different approaches in order to find the best fit for each individual client. Some of these approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, polyvagal theory, exposure therapy, attachment theory as well as accelerated resolution therapy. I believe each client is the expert on their own experiences and have the capacity to heal themselves with just a little guidance in a new direction that they haven’t yet found.
