More About Abby Laubenstein
Clinical Interests:
I have a strong interest in helping individuals with a variety of issues and concerns including generalized anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, mood and behavioral disorders, life transitions, family/relationship stress, financial or career worries, and more. I enjoy working with children ages 6+, adolescents, and adults including the full spectrum of demographics – age, race, gender, faith, and sexuality.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach is collaborative as I want to meet clients where they are in that moment of their life. I adhere to the Person-Centered approach meaning I will listen without judgement, encourage, support, and build a therapeutic relationship built on trust. I will also utilize Cognitive Behavioral techniques, Solution-Focused methods, and Motivational Interviewing to adjust to clients’ needs and goals so that they are able to find the best counseling approach that works for them.
Hobbies:
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing indoor and sand volleyball, watching sports, being outdoors – especially in the summer, and reading. When I can, I love to travel and go on new adventures but I also love being at home with my cat, Tilly.
