More About Amber Harrop
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with adults and families as I have many years in the healthcare field working in a variety of settings providing cares/services to those experiencing Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, self-esteem, confidence and so much more barriers within their life-domains as well as other major life changes. I also have a passion working with individuals gaining the adequate skills to navigate self-regulate their emotions, self-esteem challenges and overall mental health barriers.
Clinical Approach:
I am a high believer to make the environment safe as well as having the client’s feel comfortable by using an approach that is understanding but yet connecting with them within the appointment with genuine compassion. My approach is warm with a welcome tone, body language but also collaborative and tailored to the client’s needs as well as their strengths and goals. I also do strive to create a supportive environment so my client’s feel that they can build trust, additional insight as well as developing skills and or additional skills hence then creating a change within themselves.
When working with adults, I also take a collaborative and individualized approach that directs the focus on building insight which is being able to strengthen relationships and assisting the client with their move forward on the life that they would be wanting for themselves and or wanting to create. Lastly, I draw from evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my family, especially within the summer as we try and find a variety of different activities such as camping, swimming, parks, fairs, and so much more! I also enjoy reading, drawing, attending concerts, and I also make my own homemade soaps, lotions, and getting creative with other products as the colder months approach as there are more scent options such as fall and winter.
