More About Amy Patella
Clinical Interests:
I work with individuals with many types of problems, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, thought disorders and serious and persistent mental illness. I have also helped clients dealing with childhood trauma and attachment issues, chronic pain and medical illness, challenging life transitions, conflicts with family, career issues and grief and loss. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming.
Clinical Approach:
In therapy, I work to create a space where clients feel safe, heard and understood. I view the client as an expert in their own life and myself as a guide on the therapeutic journey toward transformational change. I use an integrative approach that can be tailored to fit each individual. This may include psychodynamic approaches, psychoeducation, mindfulness, energy psychology, somatic approaches and CBT. These approaches can help us identify the underlying issues that may be getting in your way, rewire unhelpful thought patterns and learn and implement new skills.
Hobbies:
Activities I enjoy include arts and crafts, travel, walking my dog and spending time with family and friends.
