April is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) in North Dakota, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Minnesota, and National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). April received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology and a Master of Science (MS) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM). She’s working toward a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Counselor Education and Supervision at North Dakota State University (NDSU).

Clinical Approach:

April is passionate about working with a wide variety of clients. She provides a person-centered, strengths-based approach, but strives to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs. She also provides a relational approach and believes building a strong relationship with clients is extremely important and plays a major role in positive client outcomes. April’s goal is to provide a space where all clients feel safe to share. As a therapist, April utilizes techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy, and Relational Cultural Theory (RCT).

Hobbies:

Outside of work, April enjoys traveling, playing with her pet cat, and spending time with family and friends.
