More About Ariel DuPey
Clinical Interests:
My area of focus is adolescents and young adults because this stage of life is full of important questions: Who am I? What do I believe? What do I want? Life can come with a lot of pressure, and it’s easy to feel misunderstood or unsure of yourself. It’s a time when you’re building confidence, discovering your interests, and figuring out your values, all while balancing expectations from school, parents, friends, relationships, and the world around you. My goal is to create a space where you can explore who you are without judgment, build confidence in your decisions, and learn how to communicate your needs and values, especially when it matters most.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent five years working at the Boys and Girls Club with middle and high school students. That experience shaped my entire career path. I saw firsthand how powerful it can be for teens to have adults who listen, support them, and believe in who they’re becoming. It made me want to show up for young people in a more direct and therapeutic way, helping them feel understood, capable, and empowered in their own lives.
Clinical Approach:
My therapeutic style blends person-centered therapy, CBT, DBT-informed strategies, play therapy, and motivational interviewing. Above all, I focus on creating an open, supportive environment where you can talk freely about your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I have experience supporting adolescents navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, identity development, and school stress. I tailor therapy to each client, so you feel met exactly where you are. Together, we build practical coping skills, strengthen emotional regulation, improve communication, and develop confidence in your choices and identity. Therapy with me is collaborative. We figure things out together, at your own pace.
Hobbies:
Outside of work, I’m usually out exploring with my two dogs, who you’ll probably get to know during sessions. We love long walks, discovering new trails, and being outside. When I’m not out in nature, I’m probably at home with a movie, getting lost in a book, or being creative.
I’m also a big fan of games: board games, video games, anything that lets me relax and have fun. And honestly, I love hearing what you’re into. Pop culture, fandoms, shows, games, I’ll happily dive in with you.
