More About Ayesha Qureshi
Clinical Interests:
I have experience working with young people (ages 11-17) in community and care settings, as well as with adults navigating life stressors. I have experience in helping individuals manage stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges, using a holistic approach that focuses on the present moment, social connection, personal well-being, and mindfulness. I also like to utilize art in my practice as a creative way for clients to express themselves and explore their emotions.
Clinical Approach:
I aim to create a space where you can honestly explore your thoughts and emotions, accepting yourself fully, no matter the intensity you bring to session. My goal is to support you in working through challenges at your own pace, while offering tools for self-awareness to break unhelpful patterns in the present moment. Using techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices, I hope to guide people to the versions of themselves and their lives they hope and strive towards.
I am comfortable using art in practice (i.e. collages, clay, watercolor, colored pencils, etc) for working through hard feelings and/or self-expression. I am okay and ready for silence, crying, anger, etc. to release what you may feel cannot be released in your daily life.
Hobbies:
I enjoy engaging in creative activities like art and writing, as well as spending time outdoors and reading. I believe in the importance of balance, and love connecting with family, friends, and new experiences that nurture myself and allow me to grow as a person. I like boxing as a sport to watch and participate and as a way of keeping myself healthy and regulated.
