Clinical Interests:
Clara earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree there as well. She enjoys working with children and adolescents who are seeking support for depression, anxiety, substance use, emotional awareness, and intellectual disabilities.
Clinical Approach:
Clara takes a client-centered approach, empowering individuals to advocate for themselves in their treatment planning. She draws on a strengths-based perspective and incorporates a variety of modalities, including play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Clara sees clients at Abbie Grove Elementary, Prairie Trail Elementary and Southview Middle School in the Ankeny School District.
Hobbies:
In her free time, Clara enjoys discovering new shows and movies, with a particular love for documentaries and reality TV. She also enjoys spending time outdoors and caring for her three cats—Juke, Olive, and Kitty. Most of all, Clara values time with her family and loves participating in a variety of activities with them.
