More About Dane Detert

Clinical Interests:

I am interested in working with adults of all ages and couples who present with a variety of different concerns and life situations. At the end of the day, I want to work with people, whoever they are and however they are showing up. I have knowledge and experience working with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, neurodivergence and substance use among other concerns.

Clinical Approach:

I approach counseling with a warmth and acceptance that creates safety and encourages openness. This is a place for clients to come and express themselves free of judgment. I provide space to explore thoughts, beliefs, emotions and sensations with patience and curiosity. Our relationship will be collaborative with clients as the expert on their own lives. I am here to provide guidance and assistance in helping clients to reach their goals and create positive change. I incorporate therapeutic approaches of psychoeducation, mindfulness techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy and internal family systems while operating from a trauma-informed lens.

Hobbies:

I love hiking and being out in nature. Visiting national parks is a passion of mine and I am hoping to make it to all of them in the United States someday. Traveling is another passion of mine and I enjoy experiencing different cultures and places around the world. I like exercise of all forms, be it swimming, biking, running, yoga, lifting weights or playing organized sports. Relationships are where I spend the majority of my time, split between my partner, friends and family.
