More About Emily Herzfeldt
Clinical Interests:
My clinical work has focused on supporting individual adults, and I’m excited to expand my practice to work with families, teens, and couples. I welcome clients who are navigating a variety of emotional and mental health challenges—whether or not they have a specific diagnosis. I have experience helping individuals cope with anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, relationship issues, life transitions, and self-esteem.
Clinical Approach:
As a counselor, I aim to meet each client with empathy and understanding as my authentic self, following a client-centered approach with the intention of establishing and building a relationship that can be a catalyst for growth and healing. I encourage a collaborative, therapeutic relationship that incorporates discussion, problem solving, psychoeducation, and skill building. I utilize components from cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and relational-cultural therapy. When counseling, I integrate mindfulness and somatic practices with a focus on self-compassion.
Hobbies:
When I’m not working, you can usually find me outside enjoying fresh air and sunshine, on a road trip with good music playing, or spending time with my family and dog. I also love catching live shows—there’s something about music that really lifts the spirit. These moments help me stay grounded and present in my life and my work.
