More About Grace Franey
Clinical Interests:
I work with teens and adults (16+) on anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and self‑esteem—some of the areas I address using talk-based approaches or nonverbal Sandtray therapy, but not all. Sessions are warm and collaborative — we build practical skills you can use between sessions and, when needed, gently process past trauma at a pace that feels right for you
Clinical Approach:
I use flexible, evidence-based approaches tailored to you. ACT helps you clarify what matters and take meaningful steps despite difficult feelings. CBT helps you spot and change unhelpful thoughts and habits. DBT offers practical skills for managing strong emotions, tolerating distress, and improving relationships. For trauma, I use Prolonged Exposure—a gradual, supported way to reduce trauma-related fear. Sandtray Therapy provides a hands-on, nonverbal way to explore feelings and relationships when words aren’t enough. We’ll work together to pick the approaches that feel right for your goals and pace.
Hobbies:
I enjoy dancing, yoga, baking, and getting outside to watch wildlife. I’m also a Minnesota Vikings fan. Skol! I bring a straightforward, collaborative style and aim to keep therapy practical and relevant.
