More About Isabel Teitelbaum
Clinical Interests:
I am committed to helping individuals and couples with an array of mental health concerns, including eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, grief, emotional regulation, and relationship and intimacy issues. I have experience with diverse populations, ages, and mental health concerns from my time working on a college campus and in the psychiatric and counseling department of a hospital.
Clinical Approach:
I am dedicated to creating a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space for clients that supports their healing, learning, and growth. I believe that part of the therapeutic alliance is providing appropriate education, acting as an advocate, and helping empower clients during their mental health journey. My approach focuses on increasing clients’ self-efficacy and often includes humor, client strengths, and mind-body work. I like to incorporate creative, narrative, and mindfulness interventions to help promote additional healing and in-depth reflection. I primarily utilize feminist theory, which emphasizes how sociopolitical climate impacts mental well-being, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which focuses on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. I also enjoy exploring other interventions to support individualized, holistic care to fit each individual’s needs.
Hobbies:
Outside of Sagent, I am usually singing, reading, writing, or finding something new to make me laugh. I love the outdoors and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of a polar plunge. I am also a foodie and love spending my spare time exploring new restaurants or searching for the perfect matcha latte.
