More About Jennifer Twedt
Clinical Interests:
My passion is for supporting individuals as they navigate the challenges brought about by depression, anxiety, grief / loss, substance recovery, abuse, and complex trauma. I spent the early part of my career working with adults and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, traumatic brain injury, and personality and mood disorders. My goal is to establish a collaborative partnership in which we can focus on skill development, emotional regulation, stress management, and self-actualization.
Clinical Approach:
I believe the work done in counseling is sacred, and that counselors must honor and respect the role they play in the facilitation of healing and growth. Although I am always learning, I strongly gravitate to Existentialist, Cognitive-Behavioral, Rational, and Family Systems theories. My approach is strongly influenced by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, with an emphasis on mindfulness, radical acceptance, and spiritual development. Everyone is worthy and capable of building a life they love, and I would be honored to be a part of your journey!
Hobbies:
In our free time, my husband and I enjoy working on our home and garden, traveling, reading, attending live music, and spending time with our kids. We have an Australian Shepherd (Rex) and a tabby cat (Tino) who are an endless source of entertainment! We love performing music with our church praise band and being involved in our local community theatre.
