More About John Brandl
Clinical Interests:
With both working in residential and outpatient facilities i am able to use my knowledge and skills that i have learned in both to help individuals with their substance use concerns. I do well with helping clients set boundaries, build daily structure in their lives, and how to apply learned coping skills in real world scenarios. I would someday like to continue to use skills and become a site supervisor that would allow me to not only help patients but also staff to grow and learn.
Clinical Approach:
I feel like i am a good people person and try to meet each client where they are at in their recovery journey by getting to know them on a personal level to allow us to get to the core of their substance use and mental health concerns. I feel taking this approach allows the patient to be more trusting and open to feedback and information if they can view you as a trustworthy individual and not just someone who has a power dynamic over them.
Hobbies:
I enjoy watching sports especially football and the Minnesota Vikings, going golfing in the summer, playing video games and spending time with friends and family when time allows for it as i have 2 nieces and 4 nephews with whom I like to watch them grow and participate in sports and other activities.
