More About Kaitlynn Pontius
Clinical Interests:
I have a passion for connecting with individuals across the lifespan, helping them navigate through trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity and executive functioning challenges, disruptive behaviors, self-esteem and everyday stressors. I have previous experience working with youth in residential treatment programs, intensive in-home settings, and elementary schools. I believe in early interventions and equipping parents with tools and techniques to address their children’s varying needs. In addition to working with children and adolescents, I love empowering the LGBTQIA+ community and supporting clinical staff and frontline medical providers. I also have a unique background working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum or those who struggle with ADHD symptoms and other neurodiverse challenges.
Clinical Approach:
When working with clients I adjust my approach to meet individual needs. I utilize the following treatment modalities: accelerated resolution therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, dialectical behavior skills, mindfulness, creative executive functioning strategies, and polyvagal interventions. I am open to incorporating an individual’s spirituality in session if they so choose. Ultimately, my clients are the experts on themselves, and I partner with them on their journey to healing and self-discovery.
Hobbies:
When I am not spending time with clients, I am most likely somewhere outdoors. My husband and I frequently go camping, hiking, or are out on a lake somewhere. I also love immersing myself in a good fantasy or sci-fi novel, or get creative with drawing, painting, or playing my guitar.
