More About Kristin Havel
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with teens, young adults, adults, and couples with various diagnoses or life transitions. I have a special interest in complex trauma and other traumatic events, eating disorders, body image, depression, anxiety, and identity development. I also enjoy working with neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ populations.
Clinical Approach:
As a therapist, I work to provide a safe and inclusive space for all my clients to explore avenues of healing. I believe in the powerful impact of genuine compassion and empathy. I use person-centered, feminist, and relational-cultural approaches to understanding how clients get to a place of needing and asking for help. Knowing a clients’ relationship to themselves and the world can bring out their insights and strengths. As needed, I will use a variety of more direct techniques from approaches such as CBT, ACT, and DBT as well as others. Through creativity and authenticity, I help clients find their innate worth and empower them to make adjustments where needed.
Hobbies:
When not in the therapy office, I enjoy spending time with my partner and our furry friends. We play board games, go hiking, and otherwise find new ways to explore the world.
