More About Laura Heinsch
Clinical Interests:
I have been trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Internal Family Systems Informed Therapy, Sandtray therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, relational struggles, life transitions, trauma, emotional dysregulation, and women’s issues.
I have an interest in human development as I find it fascinating to learn how one develops strength throughout the life stages. With this interest comes a desire to work with all generations: from child to older adult.
Clinical Approach:
I believe in the importance of relationships for healing. The therapeutic relationship provides an alliance to help one navigate their healing journey. It is important to build trust and for the individual to discover empowerment which helps them navigate the complexity of life.
I view the client as the expert of themselves. With that said, it is important for me to learn more about who someone is and take their lead regarding a therapy approach which best meets them where they are at.
I genuinely love what I do. On a weekly basis, I listen to trainings and podcasts as it is important for me to keep my passion alive and be a life-long learner.
Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time outdoors: gardening, running (let’s rename this term to jogging, running may be a tad bit generous for my pace), and discovering the beauty Minnesota has to offer (nature, theatre, restaurants, etc.).
My home is my safe space and I enjoy spending time with my family (husband, two kids, and two dogs). At home, I enjoy reading, conversations, and a warm cup of coffee. I also enjoy making my own syrups to add some pizzazz to my beverages.
