More About Liz Schlueter
Clinical Interests:
My primary clinical interest is providing mental health services to children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I have experience working in various settings including adolescent inpatient hospitalization, outpatient therapy, adolescent residential treatment, and school-based therapy. I enjoy working with those who experience anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and other mental health challenges. I also enjoy working with individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community and those who have an interest in exploring their identity.
Clinical Approach:
I provide therapy from a trauma-responsive and person-centered perspective. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities, depending on the person or family I am working with. I commonly use techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, strengths-based therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, attachment-based therapy, and family therapy.
Hobbies:
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, traveling, playing board games, watching movies, painting, going to concerts, and taking care of my many houseplants.
