More About Melanie Haskell
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with all ages although mostly experiencing working with teens and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and trauma as well as supporting people who are working on adjusting to new life circumstances whether it is the transition from child to adulthood, physical health, family, or career changes. I am also passionate regarding the power of creative expression along with talk therapy.
Clinical Approach:
Everyone wants to be seen and heard without judgment and with positive regard. My clinical approach is a humanistic approach where the main focus is creating a safe and supportive environment for the client to express and process their mental health struggles. Not only can I provide talk therapy but art therapy as well. I firmly believe in the power of creative expression tapping into emotions and thoughts which may not be easily expressed with words.
Hobbies:
In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors especially gardening but also being cozy indoors as well with a good book, a cup of coffee, and one of my kitty cats snoozing on my lap. I enjoy attending any kind of expressive art events such as dance, music concerts, art festivals, and museums. My preferred artistic medium is clay and painting but I have never met a craft I didn’t love!
