Clinical Interests:
My clinical interests include, but are not limited to, trauma-focused care, supporting survivors of sexual assault, and addressing the complex mental health needs of women across the lifespan. I am particularly passionate about perinatal mental health, including the prevention, identification, and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders during pregnancy and the postpartum period. In all of these areas, I strive to provide evidence-based, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care that empowers individuals to heal, regain stability, and feel supported throughout their recovery journey.
In addition to these clinical interests, I have experience working with a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, eating disorders, and sleep disorders. I am also skilled in supporting individuals within the schizophrenia spectrum, as well as those managing ADHD and related challenges. My background includes the assessment and treatment of many other clinical areas in psychiatry, allowing me to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care tailored to each individual’s unique needs.
Clinical Approach:
As a PMHNP, my approach is warm, supportive, and centered on making you feel safe and heard. I start by getting to know you—what’s going on in your life, what you’re feeling, and what brought you in—while also making sure you’re safe in the moment. From there, we talk about your mental health history, medical background, lifestyle, and anything else that might help me understand the bigger picture of your wellbeing. I pay attention to how you’re thinking, feeling, and functioning so we can figure out what might be going on together.
Once we have a good sense of your needs, we create a treatment plan as a team. This might involve medication, therapy, lifestyle changes, or connecting you with additional support. I check in with you regularly to see how you’re doing, adjust the plan if needed, and make sure you always feel supported on your mental health journey. My goal is to help you feel understood, empowered, and genuinely cared for throughout the process.
Hobbies:
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, including our dogs, who always keep life fun and lively. I love cooking, traveling, and—admittedly—eating Chipotle whenever I get the chance. I also enjoy reading, learning new things, and unwinding with a good game, whether it’s cards, video games, or a classic board game. These hobbies help me stay grounded, curious, and connected to the people I care about.
