More About Rebecca “Becca” Gardner
Clinical Interests:
In therapy sessions, I use a variety of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, basic skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy (not just for youth), Motivational Interviewing, and have been trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD. Clinical interests include mood disorders, trauma-and-stressor related disorders, anxiety disorders, and life transitions.
Clinical Approach:
Each client is the expert on their life’s story, and I count it an honor to participate in their growing process. With this person-centered approach, we gain an understanding of symptoms through clinical interview and diagnosis, which will guide treatment planning goals. I aim to advocate for clients by providing holistic care in session and through proper referrals. Being a team-player as part of a client’s care team is something that I value as a clinician.
Hobbies:
I enjoy dark roast coffee, live music, and finding new recipes to explore. I am a Minnesota native, so I enjoy being on the lake, singing around campfires, and traveling to warmer places.
