Clinical Interests:
My clinical interests are focusing on treating substance use and behaviors. Substance use rarely happens in a vacuum, it usually occurs with comorbidities such as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD or other mental health disorders. I as a counselor am interested in how we can look at all aspects to find out why the client continues to use and what the best approach is to reach their goals.
Clinical Approach:
I have a client centered approach which combines motivational interviewing, emotional regulation, distress tolerance skills. And also identifying triggers and restructuring thought patterns.
Hobbies:
I am a mom, so for the most part all hobbies have to do with my sons. We love to go for walks, bike rides and spend time out in nature. When I do have time for me, I also love to listen to music and garden.
