More About Tara De La Rosa
Clinical Interests:
My clinical interests are diverse and include serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, with mood disorders, including bipolar, depression and anxiety, with schizophrenia and related disorders, with complex trauma, PTSD, and dissociation, and children and adolescents. I have experiences in crisis services, inpatient psychiatric services, and community-based services as well. I have a passion for helping individuals develop insight, self-awareness, and practical skills and strategies to help them return to their own “normal.”
Clinical Approach:
My primary theoretical orientation is narrative therapy. I love to hear people’s stories; their backstory, where they see their story going, what roles they play in their stories, and what obstacles and barriers they have to overcome in their stories. I’m eclectic in practice, I incorporate skills and strategies from cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, existential, and ego-state therapy. I am also trained in EMDR.
Hobbies:
I love to spend time with my old cat and 2 puppies, and with my husband and son. I enjoy reading, going to the lake, and outdoors activities such as hiking, boating, paddle-boarding, and gardening. On rainy days, I love to curl up on the couch and stream anime or watch YouTube.
