More About Tricia Kerker

Clinical Interests:

Embarking on your mental health journey can feel like a significant step, and I’m here to provide a supportive environment. I work with single adults who are navigating various challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, caregiving issues, grief and loss, trauma, work issues and other concerns. I also work with youth that are struggling with substance use concerns. Whether you’re dealing with a specific diagnosis or just looking for someone to talk to, I’m here to offer understanding and support.

Clinical Approach:

I understand that reaching out for therapy, or returning for support, can feel vulnerable, and I am deeply committed to creating a safe and welcoming space where you can feel truly comfortable being yourself. My approach is collaborative, and I genuinely believe in working alongside you, honoring your strengths and recognizing you as the expert of your own unique journey. I understand that reaching out for therapy, or returning for support, can feel like navigating uncertain waters, even if you’ve experienced counseling before. Please know that your process is uniquely yours, and you never have to face it alone. It’s important to me to offer support exactly where you are, helping you discover your path forward. Together, we can explore skills and techniques that cultivate a sense called calmness and self-awareness, allowing you to stay present in your experiences. The therapeutic approaches I often utilize include psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and other methods tailored to your needs. Above all, I am here to support you, and we will thoughtfully choose the approaches that resonate best with you.

Hobbies:

When I’m not caring for my patients, I find joy in getting out in the fresh air, often with a good book with my cat curled up on my lap. I also love spending quality time with family and friends, and my passion for animals is evident in my commitment to caring for them in the past for ten years at a zoo.
