More About Trish Phelan

Clinical Interests:

When life is shaped by loss, illness, trauma, or emotional struggles that feel hard to name, you don’t have to carry it alone. Trish is dedicated to supporting people through these challenges, helping them feel seen, understood, and guided toward greater emotional balance and well-being. As real healing encompasses the whole person—mind, body, and spirit— Trish will work to accompany you on your journey toward greater wholeness. She offers a gentle, non-judgmental, and calming approach where clients feel safe, accepted, and emotionally supported. Trish has a particular interest in working with individuals experiencing grief and loss, chronic or terminal illness, trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, along with Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs). Trish believes healing unfolds through compassion, attunement, and honoring each person’s process and lived experience.

Clinical Approach:

Trish works from an eclectic, integrative approach, tailoring therapy to each individual’s needs. Her work includes a strong Person-Centered focus, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based approaches, Internal Family Systems/Parts work (IFS), and Trauma-Informed somatic and mind-body techniques to support grounding, emotional regulation, and reconnection with the body. She also draws from strengths-based, emotion-focused, and narrative approaches to foster insight, self-compassion, and resilience. This flexible approach allows her to meet clients where they are and integrate methods that best support healing, growth, and wholeness.

Hobbies:

Outside of work, Trish enjoys exploring creative projects and arts and crafts. She makes greeting cards through her small project, Canary Stationery, inspired by the idea of canaries in the coalmine—sensitive individuals who notice subtle shifts and emotional undercurrents in their environment. She experiments with basic jewelry making and is trying to increase her project making with her Cricut. Trish also loves spending time with dogs and values building meaningful connections with people, whether through creativity, conversation, or shared experiences.
