Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS)

A Supportive Path for Your Child and Your Family

Watching your child struggle with big emotions or behavioral challenges can feel overwhelming. At Sagent, we believe every child is worthy of a life filled with hope and resilience. Our children’s therapeutic services and supports (CTSS) are designed to meet children and teens exactly where they are: at home, in school, or in the community.

We act as a trusted friend and wise guide, providing the tools your child needs to navigate their world with confidence, and giving your family the tools to move forward together.

What is CTSS?

CTSS is a rehabilitative program for children and young adults up to age 21 that focuses on restoring emotional and behavioral health through active skill-building.

Unlike traditional clinic-based care, CTSS is flexible and brings our support network directly to your child’s daily environment.

Our Integrated Approach to Growth

  • Psychotherapy for Youth: We provide a safe, inclusive space for children to process their experiences to help them understand their emotions and build a foundation of self-worth.
  • Skills Training (Individual & Family): We help children master social skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution through practical, real life situations. We also work with parents to build a protective home environment where everyone can thrive.
  • Crisis Assistance: We are tireless in our commitment to your family’s stability. We help you develop actionable plans to manage difficult moments to ensure your child feels secure even during tough moments.
  • Behavioral Aide Support: For children needing more comprehensive support, our aides provide hands-on, real-time support to reinforce positive behaviors in the moments that matter most.

Is My Child Eligible for CTSS?

We aim to make mental health care approachable and accessible. CTSS is typically available to children and teens who:

  1. Are under the age of 21.
  2. Have a mental health diagnosis that requires more than just traditional outpatient therapy.
  3. Are enrolled in medical assistance (MA) or a qualifying Minnesota Prepaid Medical Assistance Plan (PMAP).
  4. Require support in at least one life area (home, school, or community) to help them reach their potential.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Our providers meet your child in their natural environment—whether that’s in your home, at their school, or in a community space. This allows us to practice skills in the exact places where your child needs them most.

Therapy builds understanding, while CTSS focuses on putting those insights into practice. Together, children learn the skills to handle frustration, follow expectations at home and school, and build healthy friendships.

Absolutely. We believe a child’s journey is inseparable from their family’s journey. We work closely with you to ensure you feel empowered and equipped to support your child’s progress for continued success at home and beyond.

Every child’s journey is unique. We’re committed to supporting your child for as long as they need to reach their functional goals. We regularly review progress together to ensure the care remains a perfect fit for your family.

Taking the first step is an act of courage. You can request a diagnostic assessment directly through our website, or your child’s pediatrician or school counselor can provide a referral. From there, we will guide you through the process of determining eligibility and building a customized plan for your child.
