More About Bree Baylor

Clinical Interests:

I specialize in providing therapy to those who have tried therapy without much success, have been hospitalized multiple times, and who feel like nothing and no one can help them. I am extensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which is a specialized treatment designed to work with people with Borderline Personality Disorder, and widely used to treat any type of severe emotional dysregulation, suicidality, impulsivity, and complex interpersonal trauma.

In addition, as a disabled person, I enjoy working with individuals who are living with chronic pain and chronic illness, adjusting to becoming disabled, and grieving their life before disability. I believe the majority of work in therapy for disability is acceptance and grief, while the rest is self-advocacy, habit forming, and creative problem solving.

Clinical Approach:

Clients can expect me to be genuine and show up as my authentic self. I am honest up front with my clients because I believe that true human connection facilitates a space conducive to healing. It is from this warm and validating place that you can leave your comfort zone and make changes in your life.

I believe in providing you with the skills you need to change your own life and empowering you to use them. If you have fallen into a deep pit of distress, no one can climb out for you. That doesn’t mean you are doing it alone. I’m here to toss you a rope, teach you to climb, and cheer you on from the top so you don’t lose sight of the sun shining in.

Hobbies:

I am an animal, music, and art lover. At any given time I can be found picking up a new crafty hobby, like crochet, painting, and baking sourdough. I spend an absurd amount of my time playing dungeons and dragons with friends over the weekends and I love the growth that we can have through playing pretend. I have two cats and a dog who love to make appearances when I work from home. So don’t forget to wave to them when they show their furry faces.
