More About Cristina Dutcher
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with adults and school aged children (ages 6–35) navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, and relationship concerns. I am particularly interested in supporting individuals who feel overwhelmed, emotionally dysregulated, or disconnected from themselves, as well as those seeking to build self awareness, resilience, and healthier patterns in daily life. I value culturally responsive care and enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences.
I have experience working with individuals presenting with a range of diagnoses, including attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, complex post traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), depression, dissociative disorders, grief and loss, mood disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), panic disorder, phobias, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychotic disorders, and schizophrenia.
My clinical interests and specialty areas include behavior concerns, trauma and PTSD, neurodivergent and neurodiverse individuals, self esteem, grief and loss (including pet loss), life transitions, college mental health, and parenting or co-parenting dynamics. I also have a strong interest in working with blended and non-traditional family systems, LGBTQ+ individuals, BIPOC communities, and clients navigating social justice, human rights, and identity related stressors. I integrate a holistic lens when appropriate and enjoy supporting clients in building meaning, balance, and emotional regulation in ways that align with their values.
Clinical Approach:
My approach to therapy is holistic, person centered, and trauma informed, shaped by my background in psychology, sociology, philosophy, and community mental health, as well as my personal lived experience. Therapy with me is collaborative, real, and paced around what feels supportive and safe to you. I view healing as a collaborative process that honors the connection between mind, body, emotions, culture, and lived experience recognizing that healing is not one size fits all. I integrate evidence-based practices with practical skill building, emotional regulation strategies, and strengths-based exploration to help individuals feel more grounded, empowered, connected to themselves, and confident in their everyday lives. My work focuses on building self-awareness and sustainable tools that support long term emotional balance and growth. I believe healing happens best when people feel safe, understood, and empowered to be fully themselves. I strive to create a calm, authentic, and non judgmental space where patterns can be explored with curiosity and compassion, and where individuals feel understood and supported in reconnecting with themselves beneath stress, survival, and expectations. My overarching goal in my career is to support overall wellness by meeting you where your at and working together to create a plan that reflects your needs and priorities. Together we will collaboratively build skills and strategies that align with your goals and can be carried into daily life.
Hobbies:
Outside of therapy I value mindfulness, movement, and time in nature. I enjoy yoga, sound baths, music, reading, creative outlets, and ongoing learning which supports balance and informs how I show up with presence, curiosity, and compassion in my work.
