More About Crystal Skenandore
Clinical Interests:
I enjoy working with individuals and couples, on a variety of issues that they may be facing. I work with children (10+ years old), adolescents, and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, behavioral concerns, PTSD, OCD-related disorders, ADHD, and difficulties in relationships. I also work with individuals experiencing grief and loss, life transitions, and families experiencing conflict.
Clinical Approach:
Each individual client or family has their own needs and their own goals, so I believe mental health treatment should be personalized and tailored to those specific needs. Your voice matters to me so I often seek feedback and give space in each session to address what you’re wanting to work through. My personality fits well with Person-Centered Therapy approaches, and I tend to use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing in my practice as well when needed and when appropriate. I am trained in Trauma Focused-CBT and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD treatment.
Hobbies:
I have so many hobbies! I aspire to be a homesteader and value self-sufficiency as well as food sovereignty. I’m a member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin and I try to be involved in my community and with my family as much as possible. I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, baking, gardening, canning, archery, and crafts such as beadwork, card-making, sewing, painting, and wood-burning. In the coming years, I hope to learn new skills like making soap, candle making, and hunting!
