More About Jaelyn Tykwinski
Clinical Interests:
As a current clinical mental health master’s student obtaining clinical supervision and experience alongside learned concepts, my clinical interests pertain to specializing working primarily with children and adolescents in outpatient community mental health based on comprehensive treatment modalities and working towards gaining my LPCC after graduation. I value a multifaceted approach due to providing versatile services and specialties with the opportunity to experience working amongst a multidisciplinary team associated with psychology, clinical social work, marriage & family therapy, nursing, and psychiatry.
Clinical Approach:
While my clinical approach may evolve over time to become more specific as my professional identity progresses, I’d say that my approach is very eclectic with a mixture of person-centered, gestalt, and family systems therapies. However, my therapeutic style is very diverse and isn’t stagnant due to tailoring my approach to clients and their specific needs. I want to contribute to the therapeutic process by remaining culturally competent, cohesive, and collaborative with clients and embed techniques/theories when applicable, remaining congruent with aptitudes of empathy and unconditional positive regard.
Hobbies:
Currently, my main hobby is school due to having to dedicate time and effort to classwork, however I really enjoy reading thriller/mystery novels, watching documentaries, and baking. I also enjoy remaining busy by spending time with family and friends as well as working with all the children at the early learning center when I can.
