More About Katie Feuell
Clinical Interests:
My clinical interests are wide ranging, with my career including work with both adolescents and adults on issues ranging from depression and anxiety to serious and persistent mental illnesses and substance abuse. My interests often center on finding coping skills for those who experience anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and self-harm and suicidal ideation, more specifically how these can be treated in adolescents and young adults.
Clinical Approach:
My clinical approach is rooted in providing person centered care, wherein therapy is a collaborative experience guided by the client’s wants and needs. I utilize an elective approach, drawing on different modalities based on what best fits the needs and experiences of the individual I am working with. These modalities can include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I am also a big believer in the mind-body connection and like to utilize mindfulness and physical movement into my approach to therapy.
Hobbies:
Outside of work, I love to read and am often reading two or three books at once. I enjoy being active and outside, whether that be hiking, swimming or yoga. I love listening to music and podcasts, as well as painting and drawing. Cooking and baking bring me so much joy, especially when I can share my creations with others.
